Configuring WP820 with 3CX

Description

As WP820 is not listed as the supported phone model by 3CX, you are unable to add the phone's XML file or direct 'Phone Provisioning' it through the management console.

The article shows the alternative ways to register WP820 with 3CX manually.

(Note: Hosted 3CX does not support this custom FXS file)

Steps:

a. Submit a ticket and request the custom FXS template from Grandstream Support team

b. Copy and paste the Grandstream_WP820.fxs.xml templates to the following locations:

Windows:

C:\ProgramData\3CX\Instance1\Data\Http\Templates\fxs

Linux:

cp Grandstream_WP810.fxs.xml /usr/share/3cxpbx/skel/Data/Http/Templates/fxs/

cp Grandstream_WP810.fxs.xml /var/lib/3cxpbx/Instance1/Data/Http/Templates/fxs/

cp Grandstream_WP810.fxs.xml /var/lib/3cxpbx/Data/Http/Templates/fxs/

chown phonesystem:phonesystem /var/lib/3cxpbx/Data/Http/Templates/fxs/Grandstream_WP810.fxs.xml

chown phonesystem:phonesystem /var/lib/3cxpbx/Instance1/Data/Http/Templates/fxs/Grandstream_WP810.fxs.xml

c. Go to 3CX Management page > Advanced > FXS/DECT > Add FXS/Dect > select WP820

d. Assign an extension to it

e. Go to WP820's Web UI > Account > General Settings > enter the following details:

Account Name: any names

SIP Server: 3CX Server IP address only (for eg. 192.168.0.145)

SIP User ID: This is the extension number

SIP Authentication ID & SIP Authentication Password: Under 3CX > Extensions > Phone Provisioning Tab > Authentication > ID & Password

f. The extension is registered successfully in WP820
