Grandstream Gateway GXW4XXX Recovery Mode

Common Issues:

  • Gateway is stuck at “Booting…”

  • Web UI shows 'No Service Running'


Recovery Mode


1. Keep the Ethernet cable connected


2. Unplug the PSU (power adapter) - Press the Reset button - Plug in the PSU (without releasing the reset button ) - Wait for about 10 seconds then release the reset button


3. Connect the GXW directly to a PC's LAN - Set a static IP address for your PC (for eg.192.168.1.235) - Try HTTP/SSH access by entering the gateway's recovery mode IP: 192.168.1.234

*You are advised to use a different browser or a private window


4. Verify if it is accessible. You may also perform factory reset and firmware upgrade at this step
