Besides Web UI Interface, users may choose to configure Grandstream Devices through Secure Shell Interface (SSH).
Connecting to phone via SSH Client
1. Download SSH Client from http://www.putty.org
2. Install and launch Putty application
3. Enter phone’s IP address and port no. By default, it is port 22 :

4. Now, click Open
5. Enter user name and password. By default, it is admin/admin
6. Type ‘help’ to list all the commands

7. By entering ‘config’ command from the main menu, the prompt will change to “CONFIG>“, indicating you are in the CONFIG sub-menu.
Type ‘help’ to show a list of supported commands.

8. To find out P-values of the phone, it is available here. For eg. to configure SIP Server for Account #1 in HT 814, here is the command list :
CONFIG > help CONFIG > config CONFIG > help (this shows the config commands) CONFIG > set 47 SIP_SERVER_IP (P47 is the value for primary SIP Server) CONFIG > commit CONFIG > cfg_update CONFIG > exit (to exit CONFIG shell)
9. Lastly we have the UPGRADE sub-menu by entering ‘upgrade’

This give an alternative method to invoke a firmware upgrade directly without needing to upload a local file. Provisioning and configuring through SSH allows reading setting all P-values, including passwords and backup/ restore configurations.
